Lamination
A plastic film bonded by heat and pressure to a printed sheet for protection or appearance.
Both cold and hot lamination are available, both with a matte or gloss finish.
Cold Lamination
Cold laminators, use pressure sensitive adhesives to bind the lamination film. We generally use cold lamination for our large format printings.
Hot Lamination
These are the most common types of laminators. They use heat to apply the lamination.
Hot laminators provide a better quality lamination that is more resistant to wear and tear. This is the preferred method of lamination for materials that are not effected by heat.
We provide three types of hot lamination, Polypropylene(OPP), Polyester and Pouch lamination.
- Polypropylene (OPP)
This film is the most economical and where there are no special concerns such as finger prints, scratching, and scuffing, we recommend this type of film.
It is available in matte and gloss finishes.

Polyester
This film is the most requested and is the best overall value to the end-user. This film will not show fingerprints, scratches, or scuffs and you can achieve excellent results even on dark printed surfaces.
This film is also available in a matte and gloss finishes.

Pouch/Pocket Lamination
Laminating pouches, are pockets of laminating material into which the item to be laminated is placed. A hot laminator is used to seal the pouch and bind the layers together. They generally have a plastic rim around the print.
Pouches are available in matte and gloss finishes.
Note: Matte films are very soft and scratch easily. Scratching is most evident in dark colors such as black’s, red’s, and green’s.
Note: Matte finishes are non-reflective and slightly granular. They tend to make image colors more vivid.
Gloss finishes are best for bright colors. Gloss adds definition, radiance.
